My phone is eligible for upgrade in a couple days, so I've been looking into a replacement. The one that's really got my interest is the iPhone 3G. It's packed full of features, got cool applications and it's priced right. I've also looked at the AT&T Tilt, which is the replacement to the one I already have (Cingular 8525) and it's just a more refined version of the phone that I have. That's great, but it's still rather large, I don't like the button layout, and the tilt feature seems like it will be a problem a year or two down the line. So until last night the iPhone 3G was the obvious choice. Then I was watching Attack of the Show. It's pretty much and technology and entertainment show on G4TV. Well they had a second review of the iPhone 3G, I guess the first review it was assumed it would be great. This time they slammed it! Let me tell you these guys are Apple fans, seriously. Both of them own iPhones (first and second generation), Mac owners, Apple TV, etc. Their biggest complaints were the dropped calls, the lack of 3G coverage (that's AT&T's problem), the battery life, and the latest patch 2.0.2 was causing it to crash. At this point I'm like WTF! I had this thing in my hand, with a big cheesy grin, flicking and pinching away at the screen. This thing was the sh!t in the showroom. They did say that if you can't wait to get one don't go crazy loading applications, that will slow it down, causing it to crash. They also said wait and see if the next update solves the problems or until Apple releases a slightly updated model and go for that one. I hope Apple gets it running smooth, because in my opinion it's the best PDA phone on the market. The demo at the AT&T store was working with no problems and no hesitation. Of course that one was stock. I expected the 3G coverage to be perfect in there (obviously), so loading websites were superfast for a handheld wireless device. It's a good thing I didn't get it, because there are 4 programs that I would've installed the day I got the iPhone 3G. I'll just have to wait and keep a look out for updates and reviews of the mackdaddy of all phones. lol!
Is definitely becoming one of my favorite sites. What I really like about it is that if you want to see how something is done, just type in the subject and there's a video. Yes, I'm just now figuring that out. I also like the movie clips they have it's like fast forwarding to the good parts. The Pulp Fiction breakfast scene is my favorite. I don't know how many times I've watched it. "Say what again!"
Oh yeah! I'm glad Michael Strahan is staying retired, and I'm sure Donavan McNabb is too.
Football season is here. Well almost. It's wild how excited and fired up the guys at work when preseason games start. Then you start hearing people talking about their phantasy draft parties and which players they got. I've never played phantasy football. Not really sure if I want to get that into keep track of all the stats. Seems too much like a mathmatical nightmare. It's tough enough keeping track of the office block pools. Those are always funny when you get your numbers. Your team could be up 14 at the half and you need them to go for it on 4th and whatever so they can get into field goal range, allowing you to win that quarter. Now matter how much I scream at the TV they never go for it!
I haven't been able to look at more than 2 preseason games so far. From what I saw my teams are looking pretty good. The Pittsburgh Steelers and The Philadelphia Eagles. They're both are playing strong and I hope the players stay healthy. Also, I hope they get the scores that so I win some pools this year.
I started the day working on my humanitarian of the year award. I helped a friend of a friend, who's sort of a friend move today. Why did I ever buy a truck and why does everyone live on the third floor? Fortunately it went pretty smooth, there weren't any last minute, "oh, can we take this", plus he didn't have many things he wanted to take. Fast forward. The truck is loaded and we're on the way to the new place. I wanted to cut through my old neighborhood just to see it and I was almost lost. Where's the fields and woods? Now it's a huge housing development and some sort of business facility. I'm sure before my time it was farmland. I'm beginning to understand the seniors when they're telling you about some area they would frequent as youths, that's now a fenced-off old strip mall about to be turned into a Wawa, Pretzel Factory, Walgreen's, CVS, or something. It really seems like so many people, places, things, and values have/will be forgotten in a generation or two. Pretty sad. I do wonder if that builder found my collection of home run baseballs back in those woods?
Talk about the right place at the right time (with a camera). I went over to my godparent's house today to go shopping. I'm there about an hour and my godfather get's a call from his buddy asking, "you guys want to go to a car show?" UHHH Yeah! It's been a few years since I've been to a curbside car show. I forgot how cool they are. This one was pretty small, but they had some really nice cars there and the owners were great. You get to hear the stories of what they went through hunting down original parts and this car has been in our family since 1948. While I was there I kept seeing signs for this Boost stuff. I heard it's a local beverage and was told it tastes like flat soda. Hmmm, sounds tasty.
It's amazing what you can find sitting in someone's driveway. I'll have to do some investingating on this one.
Wow! Today was a long one at work. Usually if I'm that busy the day goes by fast, but not this one. I did have some time here and there to start tooling around on this site, figuring out how the behind the scenes editing features work. It's pretty easy to modify and place pictures and the preview feature helps out a lot. I opened up a Photobucket account so I can link some pictures. I'm thinking about the ones from the 2008 Philadelphia International Autoshow. I have some pics of the Camaro concept as well as, the Challenger and Corvette ZR1. Times up! Gotta go to the Batcave and paint some lamps. Maybe I'll post those too.
Well here they are. I remember how difficult some of them were to take, because people were crowding the cars or would walk right in front of the camera. But here are the best of what I got from the show. If I go next year I'll take more pics.
It seems like a good time to post a couple pictures of the Philly skyline before it changes too much. There's been talks of the Spectrum being demolished. I don't know what they'll build in it's place. These were taken from "The Linc" last fall at Temple vs. Northern Illinois game. Temple won! You can see part of Citizen's Bank Park and the Center City skyline.

I don't know where I'm gonna go with it. So I'll start with this. On August 2, 2008 I passed the test (PA Motorcycle Safety Course) for a motorcycle license. I've been trying to figure out what kind of motorcycle I want by looking at insurance rates, reading message forums, and going to different dealers to see what feels comfortable. I think I've made my decision on the bike pictured. It's the Suzuki GSX650F. It's received great reviews and it's also beginner friendly as well as being a bike that a seasoned rider will still find exciting to ride.
Here's a list of the gear I'm getting: Shoei X-11 Helmet, Scorpion Hat Trick Jacket, and Icon Merc Gloves to start. Eventually I'll get some boots, maybe Joe Rocket or maybe Icon.
Of course I can't get a bike until I complete the look with a big chain, like they do in all the biker movies. lol! Click on the pic to check out this one as well as many others.
